[Cohabitation is pretty awesome, and Skye has to admit to many advantages. There are downsides, disagreements that come from personalities that click but still manage to be very different. Skye's goal since escaping the prison hell had been to get Loki to loosen up and enjoy himself without dragging around so much baggage. Sometimes, she managed. Sometimes, the night was spent in awkward silent that Skye always broke because awkward silences were awkward and who had time for those?

The latter happens more rarely.

One of the many benefits is having someone to sleep next to. Now, when she crawls into bed, it's usually to wrap her arm around Loki, rest her head on his chest, and close her eyes to sleep. Some would say a pillow is more comfortable than a firm chest, but some people were crazy anyway.

Skye wishes comfortable sleeping arrangements could translate to good dreams. Mostly, they are. Sometimes, the night is dreamless. It's nights in which everything that had happened in that horrible place comes back to haunt her that her dreams are worst.

The first outward sign of her unpleasant dreams is a light twitch, but as the horror escalates, so do the physical manifestations.]

Hnnn... [It's a loan moan of displeasure before she tries to roll away.] Stop! [In the dream, something sharp pierces her chest and she shoots awake, her body mirroring the image when she bolts upright in the bed. Sweat covers her body, and the chest that was, in fact, never pierced rises and falls with rapid breathes.]

One of the things Tony liked the most about Pepper was that she was more or less just as stubborn as he was. Did that make agreeing on a first date easy? No, but he liked the challenge. It was kind of like the preshow that built the anticipation for the main event higher and higher. He'd had his heart set on a certain idea that he had no intention of letting go easily, but in turn Pepper seemed to be just as adamant about rejecting said idea. In the end it had taken a few weeks of constantly bringing it up and a little bit of begging, but she'd finally caved in to going ice skating. Besides being deadset on it purely to prove he could get her to do it, he really did think it was a way for them to do something a little spontaneous and have fun.

Well, he was always spontaneous anyway, but details.

For the moment they weren't quite out on the Rockefeller Center rink yet, but Tony was already buzzing with excitement. How on earth could he not be? He'd always had the most amazing woman in the world at his side, but knowing she was there in a different way than before made him feel things he never had about anyone else. It was probably the closest thing to magic he'd ever come across.

Naturally he'd gone all out in the most extravagant way possible, buying out the entire rink for as long as they wanted it and arranging things so the day could be entirely hers and free of work and distractions. While he had be relentless in his idea being the one they went with, the thing he wanted most was for her to be happy. Pepper deserved that. If he could be the one to give that to her he really would fit the bill for that luckiest man alive cliche.

"You're not nervous, right?" He turned to look at her, his smile holding a bit of mostly innocent mischief behind its fondness.
